Where is Sphinx Airport?

Sphinx International Airport (SPX) is located on the Cairo-Alexandria desert road near Kerdasa, in Giza Governorate, Egypt — roughly 35 km from 6th of October City and about 46 km from Cairo International Airport, on the opposite side of Greater Cairo.

It shares its site with the older Cairo West Air Base, and was built specifically to serve travellers heading to the Giza Plateau — the Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum — with a shorter transfer than landing at Cairo's main airport.
