Cairo International Airport (CAI) is laid out across three separate terminal buildings — Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 — which are not within easy walking distance of each other, so if your trip involves a connection between terminals, plan for a shuttle bus transfer and extra time.

Terminal 3 is the newest and largest, and is used by EgyptAir and Star Alliance partners for most flights; Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 handle a mix of other international and charter carriers. Which terminal you'll use depends entirely on your airline, so check your boarding pass rather than assuming.
